![]() ![]() ![]() Sarah and Charles have unresolved daughter/father issues. Mike and Sarah have unresolved romantic issues. Sorry, KITT promptly escapes to find Charles' daughter Sarah, and old family friend Mike Tracer (Justin Bruening). Charles has in fact built a new KITT, and when he's attacked, KITT escapes to the Los Angeles underground… Whoops, wrong NBC '80s action show. The story involved an attempt by your standard thugs-for-hire to steal the technology of Charles Graiman (Bruce Davison, doing his best to class up the joint), the inventor of KITT, our favorite talking car. More than anything, the new Knight Rider was thoroughly bland, stretching to fill its two hours with a lot of talking and driving, none of which was all that interesting. With a huge marketing push by Ford (which reached epic proportions as the tie-in advertisements aired alongside Knight Rider itself), the new TV-Movie is certainly the most high profile revival/continuation of this franchise we've seen, but did it live up to the hype? Well, no. ![]() This was actually not the first attempt to revive or recreate the franchise, including two other TV-Movies ( Knight Rider 2000 and Knight Rider 2010) and a late 90s syndicated series ( Team Knight Rider), all of which are completely forgettable. So here we are in 2008, and Knight Rider is back in the form of the new TV-movie, which aired on NBC this past weekend. ![]()
